Short Leather Shoulder straps are now available for the convertible camera bags. These are great when you carry your bag as a purse and want the shorter strap vs. the longer cross body. After many requests, the NEW Leather Wrist Straps are here! With the same functional design as my regular wrist straps, these are suede backed, leather topped, with decorative rivets on each end.

My wrist straps are designed to fit loose and comfortable around your wrist, but if you drop your camera, the strap will pull tight around your wrist to save your gear from falling.

Please note: these straps are designed to fit dslr cameras that have a 3/8″ to 1/2″ strap holder. They will not work with a smaller point and shoot. I have small split rings if you would like to use these on a smaller camera. You can find them in the Camera Straps section of my Etsy Store. The custom order deadline for the US is on Saturday December 1st. If you are buying for the holidays, make sure to get your orders in by then. Any orders placed by Saturday will ship between the 13th and 17th of December.

Two New Leathers In Stock! I was fortunate to find both of these in my search for unique and classy leathers. They are both available on all the bags sizes for custom designing your own bag. You can find them in the leather list at the top of this page and also on two bags currently in my Etsy store that are available for immediate shipping.

I am happy to announce a couple of new designs and products. There are two new camera straps available. The embossed chocolate leather strap and a lavender and tan fabric suede strap.

I am also making eyeglass cases out of some of these unique leathers. I use these on a daily basis, they are less bulky than the cases that come with your glasses and the soft suede inside helps to protect your lenses, you can find several of these currently listed in the Porteen Gear Etsy store.

This is the Compact Camera Bag. Designed for the mirrorless camera systems, this lightweight bag has three compartments like my medium size bags. All seams are triple sewn, the bottom has 1/2 inch foam padding and the outer shell is a compressed harder foam. The padded inserts are sewn in but movable to customize the inside of your bag.

The  photo below shows a Nikon 1J1 camera with lens attached, an additional wide angle lens and my portable storage drive. Plenty of room left over for keys, wallet etc.

Bag measurements: 10 inches (25.4cm) long by 4.5 inches (11.43 cm) wide and 7inches (17.78 cm) tall.

Porteen Gear is now offering guitar straps! Many of my friends, including my husband are musicians, and I have had many requests for guitar straps. These are individually hand made with real leather ends. They have been tested for durability. My signature design includes a pearlized snap on the front of the strap, all metal hardware and unique colors. Straps are 2 inches wide.

Non-porous fiber, and high strength makes this an excellent choice for straps! To give you an idea on life span for this webbing, go to a local junk yard and look inside a vehicle that has seen its years. The one thing that will look to be in great condition are the seat belts!

I have found more of this popular fabric and have decided that since my favorite charity is the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, I will be donating $50.00 from each sale of this camera bag to help them out. This is one of those causes that deeply touches me and I will be helping them out as I can. They have a 2700 acre preserve that is the home for retired circus and old, sick and needy elephants. You can even watch the live “Elecams” and see what they are up to! A very good cause!

The Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennessee, is the nation’s largest natural-habitat refuge developed specifically to meet the needs of endangered elephants. It is a non-profit organization, licensed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and accredited by the Association of Sanctuaries, designed specifically for old, sick or needy elephants who have been retired from zoos and circuses. Utilizing more than 2700 acres, it provides three separate and protected, natural-habitat environments for Asian and African elephants. Our residents are not required to perform or entertain for the public; instead, they are encouraged to live like elephants.

Introducing Porteen Gear’s New Line of Men’s camera bags. These have a more masculine look and feel with casual fabrics and the leather being the focus of the design.
